Pro Tip of the Month

Paul Otto, PGA, General Manager & Director of Golf

Well my 1st year at Kennsington Golf Club and living in Ohio is in the books.  First and foremost I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome and what I felt was a successful springboard to the future.  By definition a golf course takes 7 to 8 years to “grow in” and I think with the efforts of the owner, golf course superintendent and the entire Kennsington Golf Club Staff we are ahead of the game and continue to strive to make things better.

That being said we would have nothing here if it wasn’t for the enthusiastic response from the golfers in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and other surrounding areas.  If it’s one thing that I did realize is that these areas are extremely active and are true “Golf Enthusiasts”.  Throughout my career I have not been in an area where the golfers are up at the crack of dawn, putting clubs in the trunk after dark and travel to area courses, as the golfers here.  All of us here at Kennsington Golf Club want to Thank You for your support and look forward to seeing you during the 2012 season and beyond.

As we head into 2012 new things continue to happen: the opening of the Kennsington Grille offering another avenue for food and beverage to golfers and non-golfers, new golf cart fleet with GPS, and plans for many other things both golf and non-golf related.  If you would like to advertise your business on our GPS please give me a call to discuss.

Now that the 2012 season for golf has started on TV it begins to get our own golf juices flowing and it won’t be long before we are out on the links ourselves. With any luck we should be open some time in March.  We will send out an e-mail announcing our opening date as soon as the weather allows.  Fore those of you that are not on our e-mail list please visit the website and register so you can keep up to date with the happenings here at the Golf Course and the Grille.

Fore those of you that have played throughout the winter whether here (because we have dodged the weather bullet for the most part) or in other parts of the country we look forward to have you teeing it up in golf shape.  Fore those of us that have not played in a few months lets not have any early season injuries that cause us to miss any potential days of golf.  Try to do a little exercise and do some stretching to help loosen up the “golf muscles” that have tightened up over the winter.

On most days I am in the Pro Shop from 9 to 5, so if you have any questions, would like to purchase an Annual Pass, Eagle, Birdie or Senior Pass, Gift Certificates, make a T-Time for you or your group just stop by or give me a call.

We anxiously await seeing all of you on the first tee throughout the 2012 season.
